Poll Question:
Just wondering about the % of us who have actually found a wild indian. Also, watch for next week's poll on Santa Clause.

Well, I have found two in the wild, but still do not believe that they exist. I believe that HCBTT, henceforth refered to as the "Cult Leader", planted them in my boxes somehow. Still working on proving my hypothesis. The cult leader will be held responsible for trying to lure rational thinkers to this cult. |

Contrary to popular legend, I never plant them in boxes. I have been known to send individual "scouts" out to members, but no seeding has occured. I have only found 12 wild Indians so far this year and it has been a few weeks since the last one, an 1892. Guess I better get out to the penny processing center and do some serious sorting tonight. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Like a moth to a flame, I was drawn to this thread. Of course, I voted Rational Thinker.
Really, this is all just a matter of good hygien. There are no wild Indians, but the Cultists believe in such because they have been infected by the wild Indian pathogen. Rational Thinkers have not been infected because they wash their hands after they sort (and after bathroom usage too). |

| I likewise have found four so far! No telling how much I have sorted, but it has been a bunch! I would have never believed it possible to find them in the wild but you can. Also, I have found lots of other interesting coins. Some look like the copper is missing from one or both sides, others finds include counter stamped or cut out coins as well as a nice mix of foreign coins. It has been lots of fun but lots of work. |

Hummm, I still thinking these things don't really exist do they, I mean since when have you really seen a wild Indian. I'm thinking all have been tamed at some point. I'm still looking for them anyhow, they just don't come down to my neck of the woods though I suspect.

| I've found a lot of interesting stuff; Bahamas, Steelies, and stamped cent with heart... I don't recall finding a IH in recent months. I did find a Liberty V nickel in a box of nickels, I guess thats along the same lines of an IH date wise. |

| I've been sorting since February of this year and I'm either doing the "Dance" wrong or they just don't make it up to Michigan anymore. I still believe that just like pens in the office disappearing without a trace the wild indians are just a figment of the imagination. I'd like to get one just to show the Ryedale what they look like, LOL. |
When my wife got after me it sounded like "Blah,Blah,Blah", but now it sounds like "Clink,Clink,Clink". Its amazing what that Ryedale can do for a hounded husband. |

HA!! Spoken like a true Rational Thinker. None in my part of Texas either. Although we have a member in or close to Houston who claims to have captured a couple.
Fun aside, there was a coin show in a suburb of Dallas this past weekend. There was a bright, shiny and red 1904 that captured my attention (MS 60 or better). I did not spend money on it, but it was one of the prettiest Indians I think I have ever seen just because of the color. |

A "True Rational Thinker" wouldn't want to get one just to show the Ryedale what they look like. There is still hope for you M83striker.. PM me your address and I'll send you one. |

I found an 1870 while watching an action movie sorting a string & son roll. Not unc or anything, but everything is easily legible, and the only fault to the coin is slight verdigris.
Copper gets more beautiful in the face of time. I find that I actually prefer finding the torn up copper coins in circulation. Every gouge makes the thing glitter more fiercely. Unlike today's coin, where a "flesh wound" means rapid disintegration. |

That's heresy!
You're on the wrong side of the state. You have to be east of Lansing.

Oh, they are there, just well camouflaged. You will only find them if they let you.

| My Ryedale says 386,546 and counting without anything to show later than a 1916 wheatie. I have traveled east of Lansing and into Indiana and Ohio without a trace of the "Feather Cent". Hoard is really testing my rational thinking though as I have only ever seen a picture of the "Great Ghost". |
