I came across some silver items yard saling today and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these are fake or just silver plated by their markings?

Teddy Bear Candy Bowl / 79.7 Grams
Marked: Lunt Sterling 191T

Fork (very worn, magnet doesn't stick to it) / 28.6 Grams
Marked: Montana Silver

Then I also found:

3 Silver looking Forks / 108.3 Grams
Marked: Made in USA then has 900 (over) WE (over) W
but a magnet sticks to them? Anyone know what the 900 WE W marking means?

Thanks for any help,
Mark

Usually any thing marked sterling is 925 sterling silver

Not sure, but my guess is that it is.Check the web.

Should be .900 silver made from coins.

Coin silver means that the spoon is 900 purity silver, also called one-nine fine. Coin-silver tableware was very popular in America from 1830 through 1860. While American coin-silver flatware is usually very simple in design, it's highly recognizable.

Hope that helps.

Well, I just found out the Teddy Bear Candy Bowl, is actually a Lunt Teddy Bear Porringer. They still make them and you can purchase it at:

http://www.doityourself.com/invt/191T

Mine is tarnished, and has some dents, but neat just the same. Has the initials AAM in it. So 79.7 grams of sterling silver for sure. Still not sure about the Montana Silver Fork. The 900 marked forks attach to a magnet so they're either fake or a bad alloy. I will probably list my newly found porringer in the buy / sell section with my little bit of marked jewelry later. Email me if interested.
