How many bricks does a person need to sort per week to make it worth while to own a ryedale?
I have access to 3 bags of pennies per week. I have been buying them, but they are piling up and I do not have time to sort. I might be able to sort more when the winter gets here, but who knows?
Does 3 bags per week justify a ryedale?

| I think it would if you can do 3 or 4 bags a week consistently and if your copper percentage is good like above 25 percent. Hopefully it will be a little while before the copper disappears completely although some people are seeing it dry up already. |

| Depends what your time is worth. A Ryedale will blow through a box of coin pretty fast. The time constrants for me are finding enough raw coin to sort, unwrapping it, and rewrapping it. Ryedale pulled my sorting time WAY down. |

I do more buying than sorting right now. I have quite a pile building up now. My Ryedale allows me to utilize my sorting time to the fullest.

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.

| If you consider the theoretical wealth gain on hoarding a copper penny to be a penny (the actual profit is about .006 per right now), 3 bags a week at 25% is about $37.50 profit per week. Multiply that by the number of weeks that you intend to sort, figure out your "break even" point where the Ryedale has paid for itself, and factor in time saved and you should have a good idea whether or not a Ryedale is right for you. 3 bags a week will take the Ryedale less than 2 hours to sort twice and since they are bags and not rolls your time spent will be even less as you can walk away while the Ryedale does the work. |

3 bags a week? That would be one easy night for a Ryedale. Better find more sources!!! |

I ordered the ryedale today. I may consider finding more sources, but until now I couldn't hand sort 3 bags per week, so it was pointless. However, I couldn't pass up the bags so they have been adding up.
Also, I need to find a dump bank with a counter before I ramp up. |

| I sort $900 a week (on good weeks), sometimes only $300 or $600 in a given week. I would say that $100 per week would be the absolute most I could do by hand and that would be tough. |

| I was trying to sort between $250 to 500 a week to start. However, I hurt my back in the process, had machine jamming difficulties, then the copper ran on me get a bunch of skunk boxes. Not fun! A week has gone by and I've found copper again; whew! I’m not sure how many I'll order for this week but probably I’ll go $100 with hopes of netting $25 in copper and not get greedy. Also, for me at least, if I had to hand sort or roll everything to send back to the bank, all the fun would be gone! |

I sort about $200 a week, so far the ryedale has been and will always be worth it!

3 bags should take an hour.
i value hoarded copper at 2 cents, meaning 1 cent profit. so it depends on your percentages but that is $30 a week so figure less than 20 weeks to break even if you never locate more bags.
if you come across more bags, you might need 2 machines, lol.
the time consuming parts I think is the legwork to find sources and dump sites. then its the buying any dumping. sorting is secondary.
if your cashflow is light, selling some copper might be a time consumer too. |

| I've been sorting around $200 per week. I pick up $50-$100 each trip. I can get 2 boxes at my local banks without question, but when I want 3-4 boxes at a time they want me to pre-order. I like to only make 2 trips per week at $100 each trip... Perhaps its wasted time to make multiple trips, but gives me something to do. I have 4 branch locations within a 5 square miles of my home. |

| I hand sort approx $125-$200 per week. My wife sorts with me, God bless her! I would still like a ryedale. |

| I was doing $100-200 hand sort per week before my ryedale. Now I haven't sorted 200 in the last month with it. The summer has become so busy I don't have time to do it. I'm just setting aside bags for this winter. |
