| Anything 2001 (except 2001-D I believe) and after are not intended for circulation. I am not sure how much of a premium they have as the ones I have found seem to be well circulated. I do know the mintage numbers of 2002 and after are relatively low with all coming in under 3.5 million or so compared to the usual 20 million or so. |

| Not to discourage you either, but my last box was nothing at all. No 90%, no 40%, and no NIFC coins. Alot of the coins were marked with a red marker, some with black so I knew I was getting someone's rejects. Oh well...I turned the stash back into the bank the next day and came out 50 cents ahead. Just think, if I sort a few thousand boxes like this with the extra 50 cents in it, I can make a small fortune. :) |

| I find all the years including one 08. Also about 15 proofs altogether - but what to do with the proofs? They're circed (and some look it!)so they can't be sold as proofs. |

| They are impaired proofs and can be sold as such or you can stick them in a book to see if you can collect them all from circulation. |

Also look for 1987s and commemoratives. 87s were not circulated. I have never found one, but I do believe they exist.
Don't believe anyone if they tell you to look for Indian Head half dollars. Those don't exist in the wild either. |

Anything?
Deal |
I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.
Steady looking for the elusive Indian head.... |

I sorted $1000 a few days ago. In addition to silver, I was looking for 70, 87, and >2001. Found one 1967 40%, a few keepers for the coin folder, and nothing else. A little disappointing. Now to get rid of them...

| wheatie, you know the 70 is silver right?I found a 2004 and a MS-75 lol 1995 so I kept those two out of the first box.The second box I opened about 5 rolls and said screw this.I was hoping to get The crimped rolls but they were the tan fold over ones. They were crisp and all and the boxes were brand new so not sure where they came from. The bank I got them from uses brinks. Is that how they usually come? |

Last Friday, I got $1000. I believe that they came from Loomis. They were in yellow crimped rolls. I found
1 proof- It was the first in a long while. I have sold these at a premium in an antique mall. I got $20 for one once. 1 52 franklin 11 40% multiple 2002-2006. I have sold some of these in the past for $1-2

| Yesterday I stopped by my bank and picked up 3 rolls of halfs. I found 2 proofs, and one '87. Do these have any value other than 50 cents? |

Picked up my $1000 in halves yesterday. Didn't take long at all to sort them. There were 100 Bank wrapped rolls of shiny new 1997-P half dollars. Kind of odd to get P mint coins out here in CA. The good news is that these rolls actually sell for a decent premium on eBay. I now have a lifetime supply.. LOL. |

Knibloe, Wished I knew the proofs have value over face can't tell you how many I've tossed back. Any boxes of halves that I sorted lately were scarce of any silver even 40%'s. I am taking a break from halves for a while as I think the girls at the bank are getting tired of my weekly half dollar dumps. |

misteroman, How did you do? Halves are easier to hand sort than pennies however as already stated it is probably a good idea to not set your self up for disappointment. A while ago I borrowed some cash and after smooth talking the head teller was able to order 10 boxes of halves in one trip. After opening several boxes and getting skunked I was ready to cash in the rest unsorted but thought otherwise, good thing as my dry spell ended and I found several in each of the next few only to get skunked again on the last few boxes. Total found for ten boxes was about ten. Better than nothing, hardly a profitable venture. Patience and persistence can pay off. The teller asked if I would cut back to only a few boxes each week as she was having trouble handling them and even the Brinks guy was complaining about the big order. I think I may wait a few months and try again. Hopefully things will turn over and my percentages will go up. Good Luck with your sorting. |

| Out of all the coins possible to search I've found practically nothing of value for many, many years in the half dollar coins. I get from 2 to 10 rolls about every two weeks for more years than I can remember and nothing worth saving yet. |

That is a good day of sorting. How did the 1,000 come? Were they boxes or bags, and, if boxes, who boxed them (Brinks, Loomis, Fed)? |
