Since I'll be drinking the Kool-Aid in a couple days when my Coin Artist gets here, I figured I'd go ahead and ask what cents and/or dates I should have available for my discriminator. I've set aside a 1981 Canadian penny and a 1943 steel penny, but given what I've read about slight variations in the way the discriminator reads early wheat vs. late wheats, early zincs vs. more recent zincs, I figured I'd better ask. Should I go out and buy a low-quality Indian Head for the sake of the discriminator or just expect it to get sorted with coppers if I get an IH?

1901 IH!

It shoots any 1901-1907(dates?) Indians down the accept (zinc) side, but since I think it is safe to assume that there wont be that many, that is a risk im willing to take! I also king of glance over my zinc's for that occasional King george copper penny, or maybe for a IH. What's weird is some King George's fall down the copper, and some fall down the zinc.

Have you gotten any IH's in your sorting, Moboman?

none.

At one bank I got a IH grocer's food token, good for like a loaf of bread or something during the civil war. I think the date is 1856? One of the employees at this bank is a numismatist and sold me this for a penny! He said he found it in a CWR. I didnt know this guy, as this bank is somewhat far from my house and I do not even have an account there.

Nice try, Moboman, but my check to Andy has already cleared the bank! Where exactly do you live?
