It was a Canadian 5 cent silver. dated 1901, quite worn, but undamaged.
In the sealed $50 bank bag: Must have been poured in from an old coin can or something and just slipped right through the machine into the penny bag.
It is such a small coin, I was shocked and elated to have found it. A priceless find!!! |

| Gee, this is tough for those of us that have found multiple silver coins. What do we select if we got a silver dime in a Brinks roll, another silver dime in CWR and a silver 6 pence in a CWR? Just go with CWR since it was 2 our of 3? |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

I feel for you...I really do.
It also tough for those of us who have only found silver once in a penny roll, but can't remember what they found it in... |

| The silver santa does not like me. I haven't found any in my pennies. None ever in pocket change and only two ever with my metal detector. A 1873 dime and a 54 quarter. |

| Welcome to the forum Jose. You are one of a select few. More folks have found Indian Cents than silver in their penny rolls. |

I've found silver in all the choices, but since I've found more in customer-wrapped rolls, I voted that way.
Last silver I found was an 80% silver Canadian dime in a customer-wrapped roll of pennies. There were 3 wheats, as well.
Now all I need to find is some gold. |

I have hand sorted over a million lincoln cents, and I have only ever found 1 silver mercury dime in a customer wrapped cent roll. I find clad dimes all the time (at least 1 a week).
10-02-08 UPDATE. Just tonight 5 mins. ago, I found 3 wheat cents in 1 roll (plastic brinks wrapped), no silver yet tonight. |

Sorry, doesn't quite fit here, but I feel like bragging:
I did some grocery shoppign this evening and stopped by the 'in-store' bank office at the front of the store: "Any half dollars?" Four tellars all respond, "YES!!"
I only got $10.50 in halves,
But $4 were silver: 7 40%, 1 90% My best find in a while!!!!! MADE MY DAY. |

| No silver here either but have found a clad dime or two in a penny roll (1 paper roll and one plastic roll). I usually convert those dimes into more pennies to sort ;) |

Hummm, I have found a silver dime in my cents, but.... it was in the reject slot in the coin counter at the bank along with my rejected cents, didn't check the slot before I started dumping, I'm not quite sure if this counts but does accuratly answer the question.

I have actually found 3 silver dimes this year all in pennies. The first I ever found was the first week i started CRH. It was a heavily tarnished merc dime in a CRW. Even i had to take a second look at it to see what it was. The other two were both found in penny jars. One was the only coin in the jar besides pennies. it was a very worn merc dime. I had to figure someone had found it and put it there for later. I did ask the opwner of the penny jar and they said they didnt know and for me to keep it:-) The last was a beat up 64 rossie. It was found in a jar along with an indian, 250+ wheats, and some other things. I had to really look at the date to see that it was silver though. It also was the only silver or silver looking coin in the jar. Needless to say I will look through any and all penny jars lmao.
