26 and only about 50 lbs of hand sorted copper pennies. At work less than 6 months.

1 ton? 4 tons? that is $3000 and $12000 face tied up in pennies, am I right? WoW!!!

I guess that pays for the Rydel, eh?

CoinHunter.. I think you got the first part of the hoardcode right. Looks fine up through the pennies. I think the numbers are supposed to be # of coins rather than face value though. If you have 17,600 silver dollars at over $13 melt value each that would really be a chunk of change!

I got it wrong!

HoardCode0.1:M37/1USWI:US1Cu5471:US1Zi7340:US5Ni556:US10Ag826:US25Ag387:US50Ag292:US100Ag176

Ok that is the updated code with raw numbers of coins. I wish I had 17,600 silver dollars! Maybe someday :)

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

176 is a heck of a lot more than most folks have! Looks great now. Just put it in your signiture and change your profile as your hoard grows bigger.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

I am 41 and I running about 33 Oz of silver, $100 face of US 90%, $100 face Canadian 80%. I have about $5 face in .999 Ni Canadian 5 cents, about 500 wheats, $75 face in either Canadian or US copper pennies. Maybe 5 oz AU if I melt all the jewelry and coins.

Then I also have my coin collection. All the stuff above is my chaff. I had more silver but sold some at $14 an OZ.

Oh well back to buying at $17.00.

In now for the long hawl.

My age isnt listed!!!!!

I'm the same as art.

My dad and I work together to sort, we've been sorting since march.
Over a grand in copper, and I prefer not to list anything else, I dont know who reads these things!

Got my AARP card (but hardly a geezer) and a zinc-hating Golden Retriever. I prefer to think of him as a 90 lb COPPER Retriever.

Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply.

I guess I'm middle-aged (at least for a copper hoarder ) at 37. I'll turn 38 in November.

Gosh, I feel like the old timer here at 49. Heck, I even have an AARP card.. does that stand for American Alloy Recovery Program?

Got you beat. I'm pushing 52.
Fortunately, only 51 of those were without hoarding copper.

51 and still counting. Ignoring AARP because they have no discounts for copper hoarders.

33 with a growing sorted and about to be sorted Canadian nickels in the collection. Also have nearly a box of sorted out American nickels as a byproduct though I don't enjoy paying 5 cents Canadian for that US coin.

You all inspired me to start doing the penny thing, so last night I rounded up about 4 bucks of unsorted, mixed CDN & US pennies from around the house and stuck them in one jar. It is a start LOL. The zincs are nearly worth face, so not sure I'll bother sorting pennies (just hold them all) and focus on nickel acquisition and turnover of the 2000+ ones.

Pennies are a pain to do anything with. they are heavy, require work. hard to package. And many more things

I'm 64. I've been sorting a couple of months and I'm up to 93 lbs of copper. I could have done more, but I keep spending my money on things like fixing the car.

A penny sorted is a penny earned!
