Looks like it could be real- could you post a close up of the clip? Does the opposite side of the coin have "softness", i.e. the so-called Blakesley effect?

id say its real. ive got a half dozen or so with almost the same size piece gone.

I dont think the scans do the coin justice. I can see lincoln in his chair with just my eye and the coin is not as well toned as the scan makes it out to be.
