today i went to pick up bags from my regular pick-up banks. one told me that they can't sell me bags anymore. contract with the fed...blah blah blah. i guess new management. They were usually good for 2-3 bags.

oh well, i still have 3 banks to get bags from.

so i called my main bank to order some. she usually calls to unload her CWR's. she had 200.00 in CWR's she wanted to get rid of. some were actually brinks clear rolls. BU 1999's. a lot were mixed with BU 99's. Where are all these 99's coming from?

Maybe your bank sold the contract for bags to my bank. I still haven't found any banks to be willing to order bags. Sorry about your tough luck, slickeast.

Just my two cents!

There should certainly be a market for rolls of 99's.

I have never been able to get bags, so I have been envious of those of you that can. Still, any disruption in supply can be disheartening. Hope none of your other banks runs dry.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

Maybe you just need a contract with the fed to send you a bunch of bags.

yeah, its weird that some branches of this credit union will sell and others won't. i can get all the boxes i want, but bags are soooo much easier. like many of us, the well dries up eventually.

It is generally a branch by branch thing. Some of them just lock onto a set way of doing things and don't want to allow any variance in procedure. If we get loose coin, we must incur shipping charges and ship it to the Fed. This is how dump banks select themselves.

The bank that i picked the CWR's from told me they were about to empty the rolls into bags so they can send them back. I can't find a bank to take them loose, even when they have to send them in that way. If i had more time, i might be able to do more. Charlotte NC is 25 miles from my house and is the banking capital. Over 600 listings for bank locations. Not to mention the 1000's listed in surrounding cities.

Placing orders this week, i ran into the same situation with one of my long standing BoA brinks box suppliers. The old teller left and the new one was not going to be ordering me any coin. Said ordering coin for non-business clients is a service BoA no longer provides...
My main banks supply boxes. It's very time consuming to open and break apart the paper rolled N.F. Strings. Thank goodness for online tv shows w/o ads...

Selling Coppers 1.35 + shipping. *800.00* ~sold~
