from a penny roll today.

the front is in decent shape with the date and swastika clearly visible. the back has a bad white spot on it.

its kinda weird to hold something from that era and from that country

Those would be nice little WWII souvenirs....I'd like to have something from that era other than wheat pennies or war nickels...

That is an interesting find. I am amazed by some of the history represented by some of the coins found in a penny roll.

Last summer (May I think) I was getting some change and they needed more nickels. The clerk broke open a nickle roll and one of those was mixed in, it was instantly discernible due to it's darkened color. I asked if I could have that one, but when the clerk saw what it was all I got back was a Jefferson.
They are out there!

Cool find! The further I get into this hobby, the more intrigued I become over what can be found in rolls of coins.

Continued success.

In 1972, as a young artillery gunner in Charlie battery of the 94th Artillery in West Berlin, I found a 1938 D "2" Reichspfenning coin in a clump of dirt while on an alert. I still have it if for no other reason than for validation to myself that I was there. Alittle of bit of history before my time is all. I've looked up the value of the coin and surprisingly it has little monetary value. It means something to me though. A "find" from my youth.

I love the history of coins no matter where they come from!
