Well I'm at work in my office and a crazy guy that wonders in the building from time to time rattled my door and walked on by. The last time I saw him we was begging for money.
He went in the next office over and grabbed money our of a woman's purse and was heading out the door when I stopped him. It took the police forever to arrive! i.e. She was screaming...he stole my money!
Glad I had my Diet Mt Dew this morning! Happy Monday!

Really it's no big deal!!! My office is to the left of the front door of the building.
People are constantly knocking asking for directions to a office or a question.
The guy was small framed fellow and his brain is burnt out on crack and had an alcohol smell. The police officer that arrived knew him as a regular. i.e Sammy and apparently he has a long wrap sheet all property crime.
While he was waiting he was mumbling to himself and saying that his crazy money check had not arrived and the $25 was his.
All this started when I heard the lady next door scream. He got my money! The guy was heading out the door when I grabbed his jacket and told him he has to come back in and sit and wait for the police to arrive to get everything straighten out.
Again, I saw him first about two weeks ago when he was wondered in the building asking for job or money. I told him I had neither and we wondered off again talking to himself.
A little excitement! Not as good as a silver dime but....
P.S. When folks get on SSI and are deemed mentally unfit that are given extra money to live. In general, everyone in the system calls it crazy money! Sad but true.... |

Drugs - alcohol and schizophrenia don't mix....
It's sad because some really effective medications to treat schizophrenia have been developed in the last 10-15 years, it's one of the few truly good things that Big Pharma has given the world recently. Unfortunately, those who have gone unmedicated for an extended period don't respond as well as those diagnosed early.
This is also another gleaming example of our federal gov. screwing things up. In the sixties, they (led by that rotting corpse Ted Kennedy), passed the "Community Mental Health Centers Act". It was supposed to replace the big state institutions with smaller, "kinder", "friendlier" local treatment centers. Well, the institutions were closed, but the local facilities never came to be, so now we've got people who should be institutionalized for their own -- and the publics safety -- pulling stunts like this.
Sad..
And now they want to run all of healthcare.....

Why was he grabbing fiat? He must truly be crazy. Doesn't he realize it's not worth anything?

People always get a little crazy, when it comes to money.
However, nice job. It's good to see that all it took to handle the situation was some good ole common cents.
Now get back out there. We need a super duper Copper and Catcher like you, to get back all that crazy money our corrupt officials keep stealing from us...

Great job on catching the guy. The sad thing is, he will be back out doing the same thing in a few days. At one of the stores I worked at we caught the same drunk every few months stealing mouth wash to get drunk.
It becomes their lifestyle.
Just goes to show that no matter where you are, you have to be alert. |
