I found my first silver while sorting pennies. I had a mercury dime land in the zinc reject pile. I've found several dimes but was surprised to see a silver mercury in my pennies.

Congrats on the find. Finding silver in your penny rolls puts you in a very select club. Finding a Mercury puts you in an even more select group. I have only found one Mercury in all my penny rolls. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

Anybody can find them in bags. Finding them in rolls adds a much higher degree of difficulty. |

Found several dirty dark dimes in my rolls but never a silver dime! Good nice find. Congrats! Was it a bag or rolls? |

| In all my sorting ...only silver 2 times.....a Rosie and Canadian 80% Young Queen. Finding silver is pretty hard to do in pennies. |

I found this mercury in a cwr bag.
By the way what does CWR stand for?
I know it is the bags counted and sorted by the bank, but what does it stand for. |

Super Duper Congrats on that awesome find!!! Really nice.
Could the CWR when used with bags also refer to "Customer Wrapped Rolls" to let the coin service know how the bank obtained the coins in the bag? Just a thought. |

Now you just need to find a silver roosie and a silver 6 pence for the trifecta. The six pence has to be really old to be silver. |

Thats an awsome find. I was going to ask if it was tarished black to be mistaken for a penny until I saw it was a merc! Nobody can be foolish enough to confuse lady liberty with ole Abe!!
I myself just found a silver dime in a bag of pennies, but to find that in a roll is just plain lucky. What year is it? |

The mercury was a 1936 and it is in nice condition and not tarnished at all. I haven't looked at mint mark or if their is a mint mark.
I thought if I found a mercury in my pennies, what would I find in a bag of dimes. I searched $1000.00 FV and only found 5 silver rosevelts.
Also thanks for help on CWR acronym. I see it on forum but never knew what it meant. |
