I just got a un-opened NF String & Son box of 2009 Pennies. It is the design where the guy is sitting on the log. How much should I sell it for on here?

Thanks,
dylan

You'd probably have better luck selling them on eBay. You should be able to get somewhere from $70-$100 for it. However, that's not deducting the shipping, eBay and PayPal fees.

Not so corsair. I had trouble selling them at $55 a box...the market is getting saturated with them. Put a Buy it now of $50 + 12.35 shipping and they will sell within 3 days. Use the money to buy more pennies, or whatever you need. I made $650 last week doing this...

Sit on the box for a few months. I noticed the log cabins dropped like crazy then picked up when the next in the series came out. Send it to me.. I will give you $50 for it.

Do the individual circulated pennies sell for anything?

I have a whole zipper lock bag full of both the 1st and 2nd design.

Ive been sorting those out.

Some are in excellent condition and some are not.

Sorry Greenday, I was using information I had from about three weeks ago. PennySaved, I am selling some circulated LP1s and LP2s on eBay right now. It's about $9.00 face value, and I got an offer to end the auction for $23. So yes, they do sell for more than face.

I don't know how you guys do it. All those darn boxes of 2009 zincers. I have been trying to get a box of the new pennies since the first one came out in February and still have not got a box. I even switched my standing order of 10 $50.00 bags each week to 20 boxes each week and still no luck.

They are everywhere around here. I just got a whole brinks box plus 9 rolls in another inner city box. I am amazed people are buying these things for above face. You have to be out of your mind as they are being made in the hundreds of millions, if not more. I'm getting the ones with Lincoln sitting on the log around here. Platic wrap. All are plastic wrap. I want copper and I'm getting these (for now) overpriced junk. I pity the poor suckers who are buying these things thinking they are the next 1909 VDB or something. Regardless, I'll be keeping 10 rolls just in case :)

Good news and bad news. Bad news first. The days high dollar boxes are gone. Good news is that your box is worth at the minimum $25....

The reason you guys havent gotten any from the bank is that the mint hasent released the new ones to the banks because they are trying to getrid of the old ones before placing them into ciculation

The die strike quality on the 2009 pennies is so poor that I can find so-called "errors" in just about every single roll. The hand of Lincoln holding the book has his fingers looking like he has bad arthritis in some with others looking normal. The blurred thumb seems common. Compare one of these 2009 pennies to say a 1964 in like new condition from your penny sorting hoard. The '64 looks like a high quality strike compared to these junk 2009 pennies.

I had to stop getting boxes at the bank because all I'm getting are 2009's new in shrink wrap. The copper content has gone way down around these parts in the past few months. When I dumped $50 last week, the bank tellers were overheard commenting about copper sorters. They said I was the "second one today so far" or something like that. The word seems to be getting out and I feel our days are numbered.
