I decided to start looking online for a bank that offers free coin counting machines. Chase will not accept bagged coins and the local credit union is 5% fee.
One of the banks that came up was Harris bank. *** Harris Bank (also has Arizona and Illinois locations) Coin Counting - loose………….... FREE under $100; ***
Does anyone have experience with this bank? Looks like for < $100 you don't have to pay a fee.

| Amgey bank in Houston advertises a free coin counter. Not every branch. See their website for a list of locations. |

| Chase also takes loose. It just depends on the branch. |
Just my two cents! |

Megaman.. free coin counting is rare on the west coast. The only one I have found is one of my local Credit Unions. I have heard of other Credit Unions offering free coin counting also. So check with all the local credit unions. What part of the west coast are you on? I think I heard that there are some banks in southern CA that have machines.
None of my Chase banks will take loose. Funny thing is.. I have to roll it to deposit it.. then they have to break the rolls open into bags to ship it. I have offered to just count it directly into the bags and put my name and account number on them to guarantee an accurate count. No dice yet. Just need to try a few more branches. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

I have heard of Harris Bank.. they have been around a long time. No branches here that I know of. I could just see me setting the batch stops on all my machines to 99.99.
I think that $100 rule is disciminatory! |

| When I first started beginning of this year I opened four bank accounts just to use their coin counters (and one to dump coin bags). Since then I've found most of the newer ones don't require you to be a member, and there's no charge for coin counting! Whoops... |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

The branch of our credit union that I frequent finally got a coin counting machine that is considered a traveling machine and will move from branch to branch. However, there is a fee, even for members.
Me being too old fashioned and too tight fisted means that I will continue to reroll the coins I go through. Don't want to lose out on even one cent, if at all possible.

Megaman.. being down south improves your odds a little. And you shouldn't get my zinc dumps. But there are a few members from down there that are fairly serious sorters. Maybe one of them will chime in with some secret dump banks. Yes, I think Credit Unions will be your best bet. |

Of course if you were up north you could have full free use of the penny processing center. |

| Megaman, I'm in SoCal also and the Navy Federal Credit Unions in Oceanside and Temecula both have coin sorters in their lobbies. NFCU is now open to all military members and government employees. |
