I just ordered this penny sorter for pre 1982 pennies, just wondering if anyone has tried this yet. If not,I will reply with my findings. It's only $39 bucks, better than by hand if it works!

I have read the other thread, and many people were going to rate the machine, but none did. That is a disappointment. I hate handsorting, and this seemed like the machine for me.

Many were excited with anticipation when this box contraption was announced. Then, when deliveries were made, the sizzle fizzled and nobody commented. That should tell you something...

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.

Not true. I wrote a very comprehensive review. I searched for it and couldn't find it. The bottom line is this machine is slower than hand sorting and has some pretty glaring flaws.

NOTE: For some reason some posts disappear from this board. I've never understood the logic in it. I think it has to do with the "forumco" software which I think has some bugs.

Hey, I'm interested! Could someone please post a little bit of review? I saw the YouTube video, it seems slow but cute. What are the pros and cons?

(Barry: Ouch, sorry. If anyone write a real masterpiece text for a forum that takes a while, save it on your computer too. Data can get lost. In fact, it could even get lost before posting if there is a web browser mishap, so it's good to type something important in a text editor, save, and paste in.)

In the other thread there is some first-thoughts feedback from people who just got the machine, but now that some time has passed, I'm wondering how it's working out for people that have used it for a while. After fine tuning is the accuracy rate staying high? Is it pretty convenient? I think this is a neat machine, lots of potential as the design is refined.

I had ordered three of these back on the 11th and had not heard a peep out of the maker. I was going to daisy chain them and mine 9,000 an hour, half the speed of the Ryedale but only 1/4th the cost. But I don't know about the reliability or durability of the design; I know I don't want to be "tweaking" it to get it to work once it arrives, I expect it to work as advertised. I got an email back stating the guy was swamped with orders and it was "first ordered, first served," he might be able to get mine out by the end of the month? He offered me a full refund if I don't want to wait, which I'm condidering doing and then applying the proceeds towards one of Andy's machines. Before you order a Penny Miser check out ryedale.com videos. I don't have one yet but HCBTT and others here swear by them.

Hoard now and hold on!

Expect to tweak the Ryedale too.

I own one of these. It is a fun toy. I have to baby sit evry sort. Tweak every time I use it. About 30% of the coins get stuck. Still easier than hand sorting and LOTs cheaper than a Ryedale.

Hmm, 30% stuck is a lot. Must be a way to improve the design and realize the full potential of this concept.

Barrytrot had a review somewhere, but I think he summarised it to have its problems and flaws.

My bold suggestion is for PennyWise to consult with Ryedale to work out the kinks and have a more precise mechanism, then add a few bucks per machine royalty to Ryedale, thus $45 to 50 perfect hobby sorter. OR keep refining the design himself and make the manufacturing precise.
