I was looking over nickels last night and every hand full I grab had at least one 1964 in it. So I must ask. For those who sort nickels Can you grab a hand full of nickels and not find a 64?

I don't think it could be done. Someone would need to have a box full of brillaint, uncirculated 2010 rolls, and I think still a 1964 would make its way in.

If only they were worth something...

I'm not sure if I ever did it. I think minimum 1 '64 per roll is required by law.

I've noticed this for a while and always wondered about it.

I've also noticed all the nickels in my 64 proof sets have toned really dark and nice. Was there something 'special' about the nickels in that year??
