i was reading a novella by KATHYINFL about a flu pandemic. one thing she and her husband did was start prepping ASAP. then when the pandemic hit they were ready. they sequestered themselves, etc.
however, the wife knew they would have family and friends coming over to see if they had food. therefore, sissy, the wife made care packages, in advance, to hand out to family and friends. she packed rice and beans.
my question to you is, would you make a care package?
what would you put in it?
how much would you put in it? ex 1lb. of rice, 1lb. of beans?

I guess it depends on the makeup of the target family. Babies, teens, diabetics?
Also, how many? 2,4,6?
Rice, beans, dried or canned meats, peanut butter, flour & such for bread baking.
canned milk, oats (bulk oats), dried fruit, vitamins etc...... |

The first thing you have to do is determine what crisis you're going to address and prepare for. I stock up on food because I don't want to starve if I lose my job, I set aside money in a safe place away from the bank in case of a bank holiday, I stock up on water in case the grid goes down for an extended period and disrupts the water supply, I stock up on my (non-narcotic) migraine medication because migraines come back with a vengeance if I don't take my meds every night, and I keep a six-month supply of cat food on hand at all times just so my cats don't gnaw on my leg. Figure out your most likely crises and then plan accordingly. |

Cheese Cloth and Air purifying unit. The reason being is you seal the window, put the cheese colth that layered withing has: baking soda, salt, fine charcoal and you have cleaner air...how safe?.....I've used it and plan on doing it myself.
