There's been talk of starting a new thread for wild silver finds... I will start it off...
Sorted 2 boxes of dimes, could not get 1/2's. Found 4 silver dimes.
Both boxes were packed the 1st week of December 08.
Also since it's silver, sorted 3 boxes of nickels and found 7 war nickels. Here also boxes were packed late 08.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of old money being cashed in this yr.

| Did a few drive-bys today. Obtained $175 in dimes total. I think someone is sorting dimes in my area so I am not really excited when the teller hands me any CWRs. I did get about $100 in Brinks rolls. Turns out the Brinks rolls were good. Found a '62 and '57 in them and a '61 Canadian dime too. I am keeping any better quality pre-1970's era dimes also. Found a '65 with the reed edge in very good shape. |

Anyways. Got my usual 2 boxes of 1/2's
6 40% and 2 90%. These were packed 12/24/08.
I was wondering, what interest would there be in a running total of finds in this thread?
Maybe for all maybe just for 1/2's. Wouldnt be too hard, if everyone adds there count to the total of the previous poster.
THoughts?
We will try it for a bit.

| went to the bank today and asked for pennies,they had no extra.Asked for halves and big dollars,They said we try and send then back as soon as we get them!!!!!(sounds like ajob for Derek,the bank ladies helper)I noticed the teller server me had 3 halves and the center one looked very grey!!!$1.50 got me a 76,72, and a 64 Half!!!!!!!Good day indeed and looks like a new relationship was formed |

Sure this is a group thread. We can do whatever we want. :)
Well within mods discretion of course..
THats if you all want to keep a running tally. It would IMO be interesting to see as a group how much silver/proofs we pull out of circulation.
I estimate it will be over 500 toz by yrs end.

| Sorted $1,600 in halves Thursday and Friday. 41 40%ers and 3 64s captured. Most of this wild silver came from CWRs from three small town banks. I totally exhausted their store of halves. Oober, please add these finds to the list. |
