Here everyone's prices all managed to jump to $3.99. And to think it was $3.43 monday.

Just curious to hear what it is everywhere else. Probably $4.50+ in the "big" cities.

3.72 Nice to see there is not the customary 30 cent CA premium.

Better fill up now before they decide to up the price.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

$1.299 Cdn per litre, heading up. Don't ask me to convert that to US gal in US dollars - math was never my strong suit.

$1.51 a liter today. There is 3.8 liters in a US gallon I believe so I pay about $5.74 for a US gallon.

Ouch!

It went from $3.69 to $3.91 here in Michigan. Then it went from $3.91 to $4.29. This freaked people out big time and eveyone got gas at a station that didnt change (including me) and in all the chaos the clerk was on the phone trying to get orders to change their price and said 'its only going to go up .10' to the people in line. It later went to $4.35 at that station.

Today the equivalent of a level 1 hurricane at the gust level came through here. The few stations that had electric had cars lined up around the pumps and in the streets wanting to get in. Power was out everywhere. Every restaurant had a huge line and the 1 grocery store that was open, was packed!

We were one of the first areas it seems to get electric back. There are trees on power wires and lines are down, things are a mess. Down the street there was a piece of siding that kept hitting the electric wire and sparking. The fire dept and police were blocking off the street because of this. Our electric really should not have been turned back on.

Houses around us were hit by trees and trees are all over the place. I hope everything is cleared up by tomorrow.

I almost feel guilty telling you all this...Just topped off the Jeep Cherokee at $3.47/gal. at an Exxon. Later, drove past a Shell that posted $3.59

don't go out much, well enough to really pay attention to gas. Last I saw was $3.89 at a usually higher priced station. I ride my bike most places on and off campus so my car stays parked unless I make the 50 mile drive home.

Indianapolis has been managing to stay on the high side of gas prices. Prices jumped to $4.159 thanks to Ike and have so far not dropped back down.

There are two gas stations in my town. The one is generally 6-8 cents less than the other and crowded. This morning for some reason the other was 6 cents less and no cars at the pumps. I pulled in and looked at the pump as I drove up to make sure that the price on the large sign matched the pumps, it did $3.69. By the time I got out of the car 3-4 seconds later, they had changed the pumps from $3.69 to 3.77. I was not at all happy, but running late for work and could not wait in line at the other cheaper gas station.

The attendant told me it was due to the hurricane. BTW it is illegal in NY to raise the prices due to a natural disaster.

Paid $3.65.9/gal. yesterday in Central Florida but most stations were almost $4.00/gal. That is, IF, they had gas. Many stations had their pump handles covered, or if it is a newer station, they had their electronic price sign dark.

In Florida it is against the law to price gouge following a declared state of emergency. That was done prior to Hurricane Ike so many stations are currently being investigated becaused they raised their prices to over $5.00/gal.

I understand costs involved in business, especially having to replace sold-out inventory with much higher priced new inventory, but this seems like pure greed to me.

I, too, am afraid that gas may soon be rationed and that is a scary thought as I remember those days from the 70's.

Here's a site showing average gas prices by county in the US.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx

Folks in my area: DE, NJ, PA, enjoy it while it lasts. The output from refineries in our area will undoubtedly start heading south and west to cover shortages in those areas.
