The fact remains that more than 20% of the workforce if you include those that have fallen from the official tally are not working. If they are not receiving any subsidized income nor attending any specialized training how is it that they will continue to eat, cloth, and provide? I will assume they will....

Good article cptindy. We have gone so deep into this mess that the class envy has worked its way down to those who have jobs that still include a pension and benefits. Instead of trying to pull those at the bottom up, those in power seem set on bringing even more down.

Good Point, class envy is an interesting theory. Instead of recognizing a defunct system, those affected are becoming envious of those that have not. Kind of like what I keep hearing about the discrepancy between government workers and the private employment.

Government workers making 15-10% more for the same work. Instead of saying "hey give me a raise," its "whoa aren't they special."

Kinda odd, the union may have been tainted with some corrupt, but, it still provided a balanced increase in wage with inflation. Which allowed for a solid middle class, one capable of sustaining an entire family and then some. From what I can tell there are a lot of younger unionized workers that are getting the short end of the stick. While the elder, ready to retire members have hijacked voting rights and solidified a gravy retirement. Same thing happening with city workers all across the country, voting themselves a sweet retirement deal and then doing the dip set, peace. Seems like poor public service, yet people seem to not care.

I hear so many say the union is out dated, and that companies take care of there workers better without them, that is such BS. That money simply goes to the corporate officers as one huge bonus, instead of an extra ten grand for the worker per year or a better health care compensation.

It's the Mexicanization of the United States. The unions should have unionised Mexico, now they are fighting on home soil.

Good Point!

Which is why I can see a North American Union on the horizon.
