I am wodering how anyone is planning on cooking
their beans & the likeif no new fuel is available.
sure i have propane and a dual fuel coleman stove.
that 1 will work as long as i can find a vehicle to siphon gas out of
but i was wondering about a large fresnel lens to heat a cast iron dutch oven. anybody doing this?

Can cook a fair amount in my Global Sun Oven but for best results need to use granite ware instead of cast iron.

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.

I live in a rural area, lots of woods. Fire is my way to cook.

When I was a kid I made a solar cooker out of big sheets of cardboard and Al foil. It was 4' in diameter and built on a 4x4 1/2 sheet of plywood. The parabola had a 12" focal point that would get up to 400F instantly when pointed at full sun.

A big C-band TV sat-dish would work very well if lined with Al foil. They are available as junk today.
