I thought we could report things we find in our daily transactions for fun. I have nothing to show for 2010 except copper pennies, even though I always pay cash.

Report: silver, wheats, buffalos, foreign coins, star notes, errors, etc. Whatever you want.

And he that hath lyberte ought to kepe hit wel / For nothyng is better than lyberte / For lyberte shold not be wel sold for alle the gold and syluer of all the world.

As reported under the Silver thread, got a 1964 Roosie in change last Sat nite from a Steak and Shake drive-thru. I knew it when I saw it - had that unique silver look and no copper band on the edge. Very nice specimen also - very little wear. That is the first AG dime I've found in the wild. Very nice surprise.

Most recent book I've read: "Meltdown" by Thomas E. Woods Jr. Current book: "I.O.U.: Why Everyone Owes Everyone & No One Can Pay" by John Lanchester

I bought a book of stamps yesterday and noticed the cashier had a whole compartment of Susan B's in her tray. So asked for them, 8 were run of the mill 79 and 81 but one was a little diffrent and low and behold a 79 S. My first S in the Susan B's and finished my third roll.

When cashing a check a couple of weeks ago I got a $20.00 1999 FRN (C3--Philadelphia) with a neat serial number. I think some people refer to these as "fancy" serial numbers. I also think it would be called a repeater.

The serial number is: 84548454

First one of this type that I have ever found.

George454...thanks!

This "hobby" has ruined me and changed my perspective on coins and currency. I will never NOT be able to check everything that passes through my hands as long as my vision holds out for me.

I know before I began searching rolls of coins that I was like the majority of people, money was money and only rarely would I look at it. Of course, I knew to look for wheats, silver, etc. but other than that I never gave any extra look to any coins or paper money I came across. NOW...I have to closely inspect all of it. Slows me down and has definitely changed my "habits" but that's a good thing.

With the above bill, I think it would be an awesome find for someone that is a twin and was born on August 4, 1954! Or, just for someone born or married on that date.

Hey, I've got just the perfect "gift" item to give to someone that has everything! LOL And, it isn't the London Bridge!

I have talked to a guy from the coin club I have visited to see if he is interested in buying it from me. Not sure if he wants it or not. I don't do eBay and have no way really of selling stuff as I never know when I can get to the PO to ship stuff out with the husband's work schedule bouncing all over the place here lately and my vision not improving enough to where I could safely drive.

Just think it's a cool find though!

Nothing too special here. Was given two wheaties in change so far this year and today was handed two 2010 shield pennies in change in the Houston Bush airport news stand. Those were the first 2010's I've seen.

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.

Doing errands today I get a 2010 Shield Penny back in my change. First one to find in change from a transaction.

AND, my husband receives the ultimate back in change--FOUR 2009 dimes. I was thrilled! These are the first four dimes I have gotten so far for the kids' anniversary coin jar.
