I abbreviated a couple of the longer lists. This will probably continue when a particular coin reaches about 20-25 specimens found.

I'm about $30.00 into my weekly $100.00 buy. I just dumped a solid wheat CWR. With 1 pre 1940.

It's a 1937.

A solid wheat roll! Wow. Someone screwed up. I'm also finding a few dimes this morning.

Someone must have picked their wheats out while rolling their pennies and accidently turned them

in with the Memorials.

Edit to add another almost solid wheat roll (46) all 40's and 50' with 1) 1936s

Hey CT, welcome to the forum. I'd be happy to find older dates like these, even if they are worn. Sorted $100 today, only a 1935D

You just need to "sort more!"

We passed 300 pre-40s found. Also, with an 1918S from Coppernicus and a couple from Bart (1913S and 1916D), we now have found 63 of 86, for 73%, so our hypothetical pre-40 Whitman book is almost 3/4 filled. But still no errors have been reported. I guess a lot of those would have to be in better condition than what we are finding...
Most common not yet found is the 1917S with a mintage of 32.6 million.

Nonsense! Finding a pre-40 is a good thing. I'll wait for a few more "hits" before I update though.

I hand-sorted over the weekend and found a 1914 and a 1926... These were found by searching two NF String boxes. I would have searched $25 more, but the third box I got were new Denver mint LP4's. ;-)

Nothing wrong with shiny new boxes John.. you can often trade those for coppers or other coins that you need. Welcome to the forum. A lot of us here are collectors as well as hoarders. I have only been collecting about 9 years longer than you. My dad started me with one of those whitman thumbuster books when I was really young.
