Today I just broke the 100K mark for pennies searched and low and behold I get an Indian Head Cent. At first I thought it was an old Canadian cent since it was upside down. I grabbed it and said "what is this?" and sure enough, an 1889 IHC was looking back at me! I have seen so many people talk about finding them and was discouraged that I never did. I have seen some people say they find them at a rate of about 1 for every 100K pennies searched so mine hit right on time! It's a cool feeling. Now all I need is to find a steel cent and maybe find a dime in a roll to join some other clubs.

Found a 1899 IHC today. This is my second wild one. Here is the thing, the IHC was in a CWR full of Canadian pennies. I mean old 1940's era King George ones and all that. There is probable cause that those rolling CWRs gloss over IHCs as just another Canadian penny. This 1899 one I found is crusty with green corrosion on it, so I do not know how much of LIBERTY is still intact on it.

It finally happened... No, not an Indian Head, although I've found about 5 or 6 of them over the last 4 years of fairly steady searching, and not even another Mercury Dime in a penny roll. No, today I dumped out yet another roll onto the table and lo and behold...one of the zincs, a 1994, came to a rest ON IT'S EDGE!! What!?! I was not expecting to see that. I showed it to my 6 year old son, but he wasn't too impressed. Maybe I need to get out more often.

Just got my second indian after about 100K pennies. 1905 in Fine condition.
I think he snuck in looking to get close to my small herd of Tatonkas

Not just any dime, it has to be a silver dime. So far, I've found only one 1964 Roosevelt in a $50 penny bag.

woo who CONGRATS finding a indian is cool. But i think any indian older than the 1900's is like the vip section of the indian head club. I have only found 01 04( took me over 700,000 searched). when you think about it finding something that old is really special.

Thats great! I remember when I got my first (and only) indian. I was in line at the bank and I noticed in another line someone was turning in some penny rolls. After I got through in my line, I went over and bought all that the person had turned in. That got me a 1904 indian in great shape. Congratulations.
