How much do you order from one branch at a time?

Do the large/major banks/branches sell you bags? Or only the smaller banks with few branches?
slickeast Posted - 11/01/2009 : 10:49:48
Bags all the way. If I can't get enough pennies with bags, I'll order some boxes.

Boxes are so slow when you are use to doing bags.

It's easy.. I have accounts at almost every major bank. There are hundreds of branches between home and work. Plus I am nice to the tellers.
HoardCopperByTheTon Posted - 11/01/2009 : 00:36:17
I would take them all too.

Bags only. I take them all....

Deal

I wish I could get bags. Then I could really do some serious sorting.

You could mix it up.. buy some and sort some. That way you would get the thrill of accomplishment while being able to build your hoard at a decent clip by purchasing supplementals from other members.
vrbsroma Posted - 10/31/2009 : 18:27:58
I get either 2 or 4 boxes per week, depending on my other workloads.
daviscfad Posted - 10/31/2009 : 17:28:11
i usually get 3 boxes. wish i could get bags

I get loose bags here...
Investin Cents Posted - 10/31/2009 : 13:31:24
I only get $50 bags - 1 at a time usually. So I take it 1 bag = 2 boxes. Never seen boxes before except at the LP3 event. Nothing like a bag! (Almost 2 bowling balls of weight in the size of one ball.)

The only trouble with buying is then you miss the sense of self-accomplishment that comes with setting a goal and meeting it. Any fat cat with a big wallet could just come in here and accumulated a bunch of CU by just buying everyone else's sweat of the brow, but what would be the fun of that? You'd miss the thrill of discovery when old wheaties show up, let alone IHP (like I'll ever see one of those!)

When you figure all the work and time, it certainly makes sense to just buy the copper presorted right now. Kurr is a great guy to deal with too. And he sets the bottom line price in the market right now. I would probably trade some for silver too.
beauanderos Posted - 10/31/2009 : 10:52:04
I'm already buying from Kurr, anyone else with $100 face lots PM me, I pay with silver if interested.
Mcprice302 Posted - 10/31/2009 : 09:07:38
If you sorted a box a day, you would probably be closer to putting up $150 a month assuming a 20% rate of copper, or about $190 at 25%. If that isn't fast enough for you or sorting becomes a problem because of supply/dumps, you could always buy some from members here at a very fair rate.

I started on this site two weeks ago with big dreams and stars in my eyes (visions of tons of copper) and now reality is setting in... it's going to be a long slow process. Jadedragon tells me I need a Ryedale, but then I don't have the supply system (or the time) to keep it fed and the zincs returned. Guess I'm gonna have to just come back down to Earth and figure on sorting perhaps one box a day, aim for maybe accumulating $100 a month in CU. Does that sound about right?

I try to get just bags and that how most banks work arond here.
Megaman Posted - 10/31/2009 : 00:52:12
i usually manage at least one two box pickup a week. Most of the time 4 boxes a week
Gr33nday43 Posted - 10/31/2009 : 00:47:54
eight boxes for me!
HoardCopperByTheTon Posted - 10/31/2009 : 00:43:15
Standard order at each bank is 24 boxes.
ScottyTX Posted - 10/31/2009 : 00:42:23
I usually just pick up a box when I stop in. Not a heavy hitter but they'll add up eventually.
