This guy in CA made a lunch bet in Paris with his brother that he could save 1'000,000 pennies, he won the bet about ten years ago but now he is moving to OR and is trying to get rid of the pennies......only problem is that no one wants them.

Three tons of pennies for $10,000.........go and get it.

Those pennies were donated to make a wish? That's really too bad. It would be my pleasure to first filter the coppers out and pay them the difference at face.

No worries, Ponce. It was very easy to find. I just searched for "Ronald England" and "1,000,000" and it popped right up. I can't imagine his pennies would last unclaimed for more than a week at this day and age, with this forum up and running.

I thought it was a long time ago also. I would have been happy to go get them.. it is only a little over 3 tons.

That is what I thought also. Someone already bought his pennies!

LOL Ardent..........as a speed reader I read a lot everyday and just now I went back to some of the sites that I read but was unable to find this particular article, I did a "Yahoo" search under "1'000,000 pennies" and got a hundred of those pennies but once again not the one that I read this morning........sorry about that, if I see it again I will post it.

This forum should buy the pennies. If they are copper and we could get them for face, it would be a good deal. Sounds like they are rolled. Even with shipping, it would be worth it. Plus, it is newsworthy. We could get some free publicity. Perhaps one of our California members could orchestrate it. What does everyone think?

Sounds to me like Ponce is just setting us up to buy his dumped zincers.

I know there are several members in Cali....HoardCopperByTheTon, looks like you can pick up a few days worth of pennies if you can find this guy.
