There's been talk of starting a new thread for wild silver finds... I will start it off...
Sorted 2 boxes of dimes, could not get 1/2's. Found 4 silver dimes.
Both boxes were packed the 1st week of December 08.
Also since it's silver, sorted 3 boxes of nickels and found 7 war nickels. Here also boxes were packed late 08.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of old money being cashed in this yr.

Brink's is not going to promote String Boxes very long. I'm very sure they will go back to boxes with Brink's prominently displayed on all their future boxes and rolls. I think the String boxes I got was a holiday thing because the Brink's coin facility was on holiday vacation. I'm going to get another 12 boxes next week to get my 12 Brink's boxes once again.  |

Mine should be easy to add too.
$200 dimes. I was starting to think this last group of dimes was going to have me ending the year with a skunk.. but deep in rolls that beautiful silver band appeared.

These will also have to be added to the 2009 totals.
A tough, tough day of half dollar hunting today for us.
$1,103.00 Halves.
This is a combination of loose coins (from two bank's coin counters) and (93) String & Son rolls from Coin Wrap Inc. boxes (packing dates unknown). The (93) rolls came from three different banks.
(1) 40% - 68D
(2) NIFC - 04P, 06P
A lot of driving around for pretty ugly results!!! Hope 2010 opens better than 2009 went out. Good luck to all next year.

Got $6000 worth of halves this afternoon from my source bank. However, these are not in my normal square Brink's boxes - they're String Rolls in boxes with the holes in them. O Boy! 
Now I'm worried. That's the type of boxes that a Dunbar bank uses. Could Brink's have begun obtaining halves from Dunbar? Could these be the dumps I gave to my Dunbar bank visiting me again? Oh NO, 12 boxes of SKUNKS!!
Well, I opened every box to see what was inside. And there was a nice roll in one box showing the Liberty Bell. What a relief!! |

It's nice to get 90% from the teller!
I could see it shining back at me when the teller gave me the only two halves they had at the bank.

I got the question today from one of my tellers that most roll hunters hate.
"How much is an all silver half dollar worth?"
"About 6 dollars"
"Where do I cash it in?"
"At the bank.. but they will only give you face value for it."
"Where can I sell it?"
"On eBay, but the fees will eat up the profit. I'll give you $5 for it."
"OK"
I still bought the 13.50 in loose halves she had.. hoping she didn't know about 40%ers yet.- Nada

(I'm up my 5th set of NIFC's now. It's seems silly I was worried I wouldn't be able to put together enough sets for my children last Summer!)
I went to dump the dregs and the Teller at today's dump location had $30 CWR's (I bought them all):
1 '61D (with bell lines and crisp reeding!)
1 '65
2 '66
1 '68D
I'm going to keep ordering boxes thru January, but if they don't start producing, I think I'll stop with them and step up the CWR hunt until the 4th of July (sounds like a good line in the sand).
