Copper bars are selling at about $10 a pound. Don't really know why... but if you check they seem to be selling at about the price he got for them.
L1011 Posted - 11/26/2008 : 19:38:53
Couldn't that fall under Mis-representation? and Void the auction? Cu is @ $1.57 a lb...right?
so if he makes statements, like Cu is @$1.57 an Oz, I'd think you'd have some recourse

Approx. 10 pre-1982 pennies weighs an Oz, if Cu was $1.57 an Oz, 1 pre-1982 penny would be worth 15 cents, a roll would be worth $7.50

Why don't one of you offer him some of your copper at half the price he got or half of what he claims the price per ounce is and see what he says ?

I didn't know I had so much money. If I could get over $11.00 per pound for my copper like he did I would be getting $22,297.00 for every ton I have in the basement.

Arguing with that guy on eBay is like getting a medal at the Special Olympics.
You may win, but you're still retarded :) j/k
The guy is simply a lying scammer taking advantage of others - nobody can be that ignorant. Especially when they are selling PMs.

So he can't even reply to the right person?

You can lead a horse to water, but what are you supposed to do when it's turned around the wrong way trying to drink sand instead?

Maybe if enough other people send him a message, he'll finally get the idea. Or maybe he knows and just won't admit it, since he's claiming copper is $25 a pound and it brings in more bids
Neckro Posted - 11/26/2008 : 14:12:24
Kitco is for buying copper also and why would then waste their time buying an ounce of copper cause it's so cheap. I'm not going to argue with you on this. If you feel it's per pound then so be it. I know what is facts and I'm relaying them to you. I don't know if you knew this or not but Kitco gets it's buying price per recycling contract for copper. That contract consists of the price per pound yes. They don't do it per ounce cause a large business doesn't want to waste their time doing that. I go to CNBC.com cause they have their own channel on TV and they are the stock market, and wall street watch dog. Thank you for you concern on this matter. Good day

He sent me this

I sent a message as well, although the auction already ended. Hopefully the seller will take the time to read it.

quote:
Hello, I was watching your auction and noticed there is some confusion as to the pricing of copper. The prices you are using from CNBC are not all priced in ounces. They are priced according to the standard unit of trade for each metal. Precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, are priced per troy ounce. Base metals, such as copper and nickel, are priced per pound, and usually industrial metals like steel are priced per ton. Please note that CNBC's commodity page uses an outdated ticker symbol for aluminum, which has not been traded since 12/17/2002, so that price is not correct. If copper were actually $1.57 per OUNCE, as you claim, then you could go to the hardware store and buy copper pipe for less than the price of copper. The price of copper is per POUND. If there is any confusion, I recommend you use this chart, which clearly labels the spot price as $/lb.

All you have to do is lie also. Perhaps there is a difference in marketing ethic's between the people on this forum, and ebay. =)
cwgii Posted - 11/26/2008 : 12:52:55
yeah but look at the price he got. we should be so lucky.
Neckro Posted - 11/26/2008 : 12:48:37
I swear this dude must be retarded.
EZ_Money Posted - 11/26/2008 : 07:15:35
According to him I guess Aluminum is $82 an ounce too!!! I can get drunk and make a profit at the same time! No more bottles bring me some cans!
cwgii Posted - 11/25/2008 : 23:44:41
